Industrial Labeling Systems do it in any Position.
The Mectec TF-150 is a freestanding print & apply system of robust construction, labels are printed via the integral T60 printer then fed onto the “Tamp-Blow” applicator pad. On a given signal the applicator moves out to apply the label onto the relevant face of the pack, the application is a combination of tamp & blow, this technique gives reliable contact / adhesion of the label when the pack has an un-even surface!
The T60 printer used by the TF-150 system will print text, barcodes, logos, date & time as well as best before dates and counters. The T60 is a Thermal Transfer printer capable of printing labels widths from 10mm up to 170mm max. All true type fonts can be used in a label design and are downloaded to the printer as required.

Fresh Ideas in Food Service
Reynolds Catering is one of the premier fresh and chilled food distribution companies to the food service sector in the UK. At its National Distribution Centre in Waltham Cross the company introduced a system of traceable and returnable plastic crates for use on its conveyor picking line.
Richard Calder Head of Systems Development - “The one bottleneck in the picking operation was the application of two labels to both side and leading edges of the plastic crates, the problem was further complicated by the fact that certain clients still preferred their orders packed in cardboard.

Industrial Labeling Systems Ltd has recently installed 3 TT-150 print & apply Labeling systems
“2 Sisters Food Group’s” St.Neot's production site in Cambridgeshire.
The 6” TT-150 Labeling systems have been integrated with the Endoline 706 case taping systems to provide an overall Labeling & Case taping solution contained in a smaller footprint as space at the production site is at a premium.
The printer used by the TT-150 system will print text, barcodes, logos, date & time as well as best before dates and counters.
Labels are designed using the “MecWin” label design software, which can then be downloaded to the printer’s memory for use in “stand alone” mode as the TT-150 is capable of holding up to 1000 product labels in its memory which can be recalled by an operator from the control panel display unit if required.

Successful Installation of a number of print & apply Labeling Systems
At this point the system is
triggered by the line “PLC” to
complete the “Print & Insert”
cycle. The requested document
is printed and cut to length,
then placed into the open tray
via the pneumatic applicator.
Depending upon the height of
the tray being processed, the
applicator will either eject the
document [High trays] or travel
downwards for a period of time
then release the document
[Low trays]. In either case a
short “blow” function operates
to release the document from
the A4 fan-pad. On detection of
the “Home position & Cycle
complete” relays from the
labeler, the PLC advances the
tray forward.
The systems were also supplied
with barcode scanners
which read the label at the time
of printing; the scanned digits
were then relayed back to the
host system to confirm that the
document matches the correct
container.
